Public Support

Carnegie Hall is a not-for-profit corporation whose Trustees operate the concert hall in a landmark building owned by the City of New York. The people of New York City help to support Carnegie Hall’s operations through funds from the City’s Department of Cultural Affairs. The combined generosity of Carnegie Hall’s Trustees and individual, corporate, foundation, and government donors underwrites the Hall’s programs and activities each year.

We extend special thanks to the following government organizations whose funding helps sustain our operations, educational and community activities, and artistic programs:

New York City Department of Cultural Affairs
New York City Department of Education
New York City Department of Design and Construction
New York City Department of Youth and Community Development
New York City Council
Office of the Manhattan Borough President
New York State Council on the Arts
Empire State Development Corporation
National Endowment for the Arts
National Endowment for the Humanities
US Department of Education, Fund for the Improvement of Education
US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs
