Last season, Uchida performed Beethoven’s final sonatas at Carnegie Hall. As the closing notes faded into silence, the crowd erupted, cheering what The New York Times called the “searing intimacy” of her playing. On this concert, hear Uchida’s distinctive take on a Beethoven sonata that presaged those innovative last works, and music by two Romantic composers synonymous with great piano music.

Mitsuko Uchida will be signing CDs after this performance.
